Romance, Holiday Romance

  • When Gemma Goldin returns to her hometown for her best friend’s wedding, the last person she wants to see is Aaron Kessler—the former crush who helped ruin her life. It’s just her luck that she runs into him on a day she looks terrible, and feels even worse. Aaron, on the other hand, has only gotten more gorgeous and, worst of all, is being so sweet Gemma finds it almost impossible to keep hating him. Almost.

Aaron just wants one Chanukah without his family hassling him to get married. The trouble is, he’s still not over the girl whose spirit and bravery he fell in love with years ago, the girl he couldn’t save. He’d give anything to spend just a little time with Gemma, but it’s obvious she hasn’t forgiven him—and he isn’t sure he deserves her forgiveness.

Gemma and Aaron make a deal: he'll escort her to the wedding and she will spend the weekend with his family pretending to be his fiancee. In the glow of candlelight everything feels magical, but before the holiday ends, Gemma will be heartbroken again—unless she can find it in herself to let go of the past.

  • This collection of books featuring Jewish main characters is decidedly non-comprehensive. As we come across books that are described as having Jewish main characters, we add them to this database. The creators of the Jewish Genre Reading Challenge have not read all (or even most) of the books in this database. We have gathered information from many sources and not all may be accurate. Inclusion of a book in our database does not imply endorsement or approval. There is always the possibility that antisemitism may be present in a book, either written into a character's experience or through malicious or ignorant caricature or stereotypical portrayal of Jewish characters and culture. Please take care of yourselves as you read.

PLEASE let us know if you encounter a book in this database that does not have a Jewish main character, if you have corrections or additions for a book's genre categories, or if you have any other concerns about the inclusion of a particular book in this database.
